Billy’s Chunky Chili

One of the all-time most popular recipes come fall and winter. And for good reason, this is the best crockpot chili around! It’s incredibly flavorful, it’s packed with protein and perfectly hearty, plus it’s a dinner everyone can agree on.

 2 lbs beef - sirloin steaks - stew meat
 1.50 lbs 90% lean ground beef
 2 16 oz. cans of red kidney beans
 2 8 oz. cans of tomato sauce
 2 8 oz. cans of picante sauce
 1 large white onion (diced into large pieces
 1 packets of Chili Seasoning (Carroll Shelby's Chili Kit)Use all the packets in the box
 1 4.5 oz. can of chopped green chiles

1. In a large frying pan, brown the ground beef and remove the liquid. Place the ingredients in a large crockpot.

2. Cut the sirloin stew beef into chunks approximately 1/2" in size. Brown the cut beef in the same large frying pan, removing the liquid before putting it in the crockpot.

3. Cut the onion into larger pieces and place it in the crockpot.

4. Pour the kidney beans, regular tomato sauce, Picante tomato sauce, green chili peppers, and chili seasoning into the crockpot. Mix all the ingredients well with a wooden spoon.

5. Add additional chili powder to raise the "kick" of the flavor!

6. Turn on the crockpot to "HIGH" for about 4 hours. Reduce to "LOW" for another 2 - 4 hours.

7. Serve in bowls with grated cheddar cheese, sour cream, and additional chopped onions.

NOTE: Thick and chunky chili that will be great for days after the initial preparation. Have lots of water or other beverage handy if you "kick" up the heat! Guaranteed to keep you warm on those cold Florida days!
