Natural Remedies

Natural remedies in balms and tinctures harness the healing properties of plants by extracting their active compounds. Tinctures are concentrated liquid extracts taken internally to target systemic issues, while balms are topical ointments designed to soothe and protect the skin.

Tinctures: Concentrated Liquid Extracts

A tincture is made by soaking fresh or dried herbs in alcohol, vinegar, or glycerin for several weeks. The liquid acts as a solvent, pulling out and preserving the plant’s active compounds (like alkaloids and essential oils).

Balms (Salves): Topical Ointments

Balms (often called salves) are made by melting wax (like beeswax or soy wax) into an herbal-infused oil. This creates a semi-solid barrier that holds the plant’s nutrients against the skin, allowing for slow, localized absorption.
